Problems with OTA update (ICS)

I have this same problem but no idea what to do i even did on phone system restore. But super user stayed on my phone i dont know if thats my problem but putting it out there. Only things i have removed from my phone before i did the restore was nfl mobile app and moto active. Can anyone help me figure out how to get the install to work do i need to do the rsd flash to .219?

I never uninstalled any of the bloatware, only froze. I also updated all the bloatware that the Play Store tells me I can update. So as far as I can tell, it should work for me...

I also of course installed BusyBox. I didn't use the JRummy one, I used the one by Stephen (Stericson).

That did it. You can't install anything and you can't remove anything from the any folder that is part of the system

Grab the ICS fastboot files and flash that OR grab the stock .219 GB fastboot and restore your phone to 100% stock and then install the update.

How can I do fastboot on a mac? Or is there some way for me to do it on my phone using the stock bootloader? I have the original Droid 4 Utility already.

I think if you use option 2 of jsnweitzel's Droid 4 Utility GB Only that should fix your problem without wiping out apps, settings etc.

Ok new question: is it possible just to flash a new /system folder onto my droid 4 without fastbooting? Say if I just downloaded ROM Manager and flashed it that way.

I had the same problem as many others, although - like many others - I did not delete any of the stock apps, just froze them. I suspect Busybox did some changes to the system files, maybe safestrap - who knows.
After many fruitless attempts I eventually followed the instructions in this thread: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/dr...otorola-droid-4-xt894-stock-windows-only.html , returned to stock and did the update from there with no problem.
Although it is a pain to start from zero, it also gave me a chance to reconsider, throw out some apps I don't really use... Kinda like spring cleaning
I do have to say: It's feels great to have a squeaky clean system and ICS is clearly worth the effort. Feels as if I have a new phone!

I finally broke down and restored my sytem using the Droid 4 utility, option #2 allows you to restore without deleting user data. A big thanks to all the experts out there who are patient enough to help guide us noobs through the learning process.

After restoring using the D4 utility I was able to update to ics with no problem and I still had all my apps and data. Loving the ics goodness.

So the file that stopping me from updating to ICS is /system/bin/logwrapper. How exactly do I fix that?
