problems with flash_image

    I am having problems with the flash_image file i am folling steps on Custom Recovery Image | Root Your Droid and i went to lint hit the select all button then saved file which it automaticvally saved it to flash_image mounted my droid put file on sd card then unmounted and activated debugging went to command promp on computer and got the shell running then typed in dd if=/sdcard/flash_image of=/data/local/flash_image and it said cannot open for read what did i do wrong any help.. trying to create custom recovery image so i can do full back up using nandroid.. thanks and i did root the phone am i missing something?

    You can install Droidroothelper from the market and it will do it for you.

    Check you sdcard is flash_image a file or folder? If its a folder it won't work.

    ok so i bought full version of droid root.. how do you know if it backed up files if you start phone then hold x the screen looks the same as it did before is something not done right i backed up my apps flash image installed \does this system back up? do i still do sp recovery? if so how does this program hide the files? lot of questions i know just want to make sure it backed up

    I had the same problem bro. Try this :

    instead of typing "flash_image" use "flash_image.txt". Really. Sounds dumb, but it worked for me. (this drove me crazy for about 20 minutes)

    tried that no luck for me said at first no file found changed what i typed to have .txt at end same bad luck
