I have rooted my phone (moto droid) successfully, and was following a guide to install bugless beast, but all the links were out of date so i'm stuck. can someone post a link to a thread that is more up to date so i can finish?

this is the thread i was following:
    http://www.droidforums.net/forum/ha...ecovery-terminal-emulator-zip.html#post195761

this thread was nice because the directions were very well explained, and im new to doing this. i am good at following directions, and understanding what im doing, i just dont know the "lingo" but i wont ask about that here. just a new thread that i can follow will all directions from start to finish. thanks

    Hi,

I just finished rooting and installing that same ROM using that same guide.

I ran into the same problem when I got to the steps to install the flash_image, and recovery downloads; the links were dead... I put up working links for downloads for steps 10 & 12 in the guide (link below to my post in that thread).

They worked fine, and all is running good.

    From the"http://www.droidforums.net/forum/hacking-help/20395-how-easily-install-bugless-beast-using-only-sprecovery-terminal-emulator-zip-63.html" thread

I just finished rooting and installing the ROM using your guide, and the files in these links. Everything seems to be working fine.
    FYI

The individual that made the OP is out-of-town, due to a family matter. It may be a few more days before he is able to update the links. I suggest that you check the "Last edited date" listed at the bottom left of his instruction page. We all need to be patient during his absence.

those were the versions used in that guide.. It was my first time rooting and installing a ROM.

after installing that version. I also noticed there was a new version [ROM 2.0.1] Bugless Beast V1.0 (2/20/10) that came out yesterday. Ithe guide was still handy, I just updated the updated ROM zip with the current one

and to the admin.. I did look at the last edited date in the thread. it was about a week ago. This was my first time trying to do any customizing to my droid, so I was unaware how long the links have been dead for, etc.. I also noticed in the OP for that thread, he said if there were any problems post them in the thread.. I figured I wasnt doing anything wrong..

cyb3rtr0n, I apologize for my poor communication.

When one decides to Root for the first time it can be a daunting task so one must have the most up-to-date and accurate information available.

What I had hoped to communicate was that the individual who created the set of instructions was attending to a family matter, and, therefore, his focus was not on keeping this thread up-to-date. Typically, Matt spends hours researching and posting information on this forum.

I did a poor job when I suggested looking at the last edited date. My intent for including that sentence was to say that one would be able to know when the OP was corrected when that date had been updated.

Thank you for helping me realize that I need to de a better job when entering responses on these threads.

Thought you may be interested to know that Matt just updated his instructions. Here is a link that explains his absence (http://www.droidforums.net/forum/off-topic-forum/23689-bad-things-come-threes.html)
