    Problems changing framework
As of now these are the steps I am using.

    1. I make changes to framework.zip
    2.I compress the folder.
    3. Change the .zip to .apk
4.Put the apk on the sd card.
    5. Enter the following commands: Unmount the phone
    Su
    mount –o rw,remount /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
    busybox cp –R /sdcard/framework-res.apk /system/framework
    Reboot
Every time I do this the phone boots but cant get passed the "M" in the boot screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you resign the package? I'd recommend running zipalign from the sdk tools also (after resigning).

    Check out:
[How-To] Signing ROMs - Android Forums

This thread shows both a windows way and a linux way to sign packages (not just roms). Just understand the linux way described assumes you installed the android git repository.

But if I am rooted shouldn't I not have to sign the files?
