I've recently rooted, running SS4.8 and so far so good. However, I tried re-installing google street view and it will download from the market but fails to install and I get the error message in my notifications. Any ideas?

first try uninstalling through settings --> applications, and then reinstalling through the market.

if that doesn't work, try uninstalling using titanium backup, rebooting, then installing from the market.

I had the same problem on my Droid 1 on Ultimate Droid 8 yesterday.

I renamed the Street.apk file in the system\app directory. Rebooted then it downloaded and installed without problems.

I tried all the solutions in this thread but nothing has worked so far. It downloads properly but it always states that it is unsuccessful in installing.

Does anyone have any other solutions?

Did you reboot after removing the streetview app? If not, that may be the issue. The system needs a reboot after removal.

There are a few things to try. You can use Astro or Root Explorer (I use root explorer) to delete the street.apk and reboot. Both are in the market. You can also use Terminal Emulator to remove the .apk........

***From memory - may not be correct!!***
    su (enter)
    sysrw (enter)
    rm /system/app/streetview.apk (enter)
    reboot (enter)

    Hope this helps.
