So are you able to unlock? Did you set up you pattern/pin?

I have to hit the emergency call then hit back and the pin code comes up.

Does your front facing camera work? Test it fron the camera application.

Yes. I've even cleared out the security and started over and it even goes through the setting up part of the face unlock but when I attempt to unlock that's when I have problems.

Happens to me from time to time also and that's with the night vision option on, but seriously, it seems like it may be getting worse.

I'm glad to know its not just me.

Mine happens every time.

I've just turned face unlock off and am now using pin unlock which is fine. Just want it to work. I really just think its a nice show off feature.

mine takes a second or two before my face shows up on the screen. it's black before that, which is a bit disappointing. i have a feeling i'm going to stop using the face unlock feature b/c it just takes too long.

IF you flashed a new ROM the behavior is unpredictable. You need to turn it off, and turn it back on. Sometimes its all black, sometimes it lets everyone in; resetting it fixes things

FYI- if you click on the tiny lock icon, you can enter your PIN without having to wait for it to time out or go into emergency call and back out...

Then what's the point of face unlock? I would just pick the PIN method.

Sometimes it's too dark for it to work, or it's not convenient to hold the phone up to your face. But face unlock is a cool way to show off ICS...
