Problem using backgrounds

I downloaded backgrounds but when I save the pictures I cannot find them anywhere on the phone in order to use them. Is there a special file these go to that I'm not finding or can you save to specific files when downloading?

Goes onto your SD card in a folder called 'downloads'.

you need a file explorer such as EStrongs File Explorer or Astro File Manager to access the files on your SD card.

I have astro and if I go into download there is nothing there. I tried clicking save on backgrounds and setting as wallpaper in hopes they would save somehow. No luck
