I have the Razr HD with ICS unrooted. I have not/will not be updating to JB do to all the issues, plus it ofeers me nothing I want. Is there any way to stop the update notification on an unrooted phone?

I believe if you go into Settings> Apps> Updater (should appear in "ALL") and disable that application/force stop/clear data . Those reminders should be gone. Will need to unfreeze if ever decide to go to JB.

What issues are there with JB? I'm running it and have found it to be far superior to any Android version yet...

Pretty sure you need to be rooted to freeze the updater apk. Its usually a system file which like I said requires root.

If there was only a way that I could repeat this on 4.0.4, this would be a good answer for the OP's request.

Jelly Bean update

My wife updated her new Razr HD which she got last night with Jelly Bean. She saw the update message and said OK. Now she no longer has Speed Dialing on her phone. Cust support said that's what happens with the update. Hopefully there will be a fix later.

In the mean time you can go back to ICS and freeze the updater if you wish.

:frown:

:frown:I gave up and updated my HD to JB. Now my phone and my PC no longer see the SD card, so no pics, music, vids.

If you plug in via MTP mode your phone will show up as a device. Click it and you can see internal and external cards. If the device doesn't show up make sure you have the drivers installed.

Yea, I used it. No plans to bring it back.

OK, I have been connecting via MTP mode and do not see SD following JB update, did before. Is there a new driver for phone or PC that needs to be downloaded? Did I mention that the phone does not see the SD also.
