Prevent certain images (icons, synced pics) from showing up in gallery

Is this possible? I realize there are different selections for camera pictures and all of these, but it's annoying to scroll through all of this stuff if it's not necessary.

you can exclude certain folders from being displayed in the gallery by placing a empty file in that folder and title it .nomedia

yes it begins with a period.

How do I do that? I've tried searching to see if I could get any information, but no luck. I put a .nomedia.txt file in there and it didnt work.

If you're using Windows 7, apparently they changed Windows Explorer so rename requires a filename. To work around this, you can do the following:

1. Open Notepad.
2. Follow the menu path, File | Save As
3. Change the file type to All Files
4. Save the empty file as .nomedia

Did that and it worked. The only thing different from what I did was changing the file type. Thanks
