I am working on getting this fully switched over to another carrier (cricket), however I have been unsuccessful so far getting a DATA connection. I've tried many programs such as CDMA Workshop, QPST, RadioCOMM, and RSD General with no luck. When I do write the settings for DATA, it always reverts. Anyone have any direction on this? I don't have to have a step by step by any means.

I am running into the same problem still trying though. I have an Eris and I was able to change the data settings on that phone.

What settings have you tried modifying so far in QPST? Did you try anything else?

Heres what weve tried so far:

Motorola Droid - Page 30 - Mobile Files dot com

30 pages, quite a few are rants and bickering.

At this point we are waiting for a newer version of MotoPST or a Motorola engineer to leak something.

I am using Cricket, and there is no way to do it. The @vzw3g.com comes from something in the chip or possibly a software revert, but when you edit the NV item in QPST or QXDM the setting will always change back. I have tried every software mentioned on every forum I have found, as well as a few hex edits, and only managed to lose my 3G icon :)

Currently I am trying to make a cron script to change it on boot to @mycricket.com. I don't think the software can talk to the CDMA settings or the NV folder, at all but I am working on it

Can anyone confirm if this works on the Moto Droid? Go to Voice Dialer, say "open APN" and then click open APN. From there add new settings (for Cricket) and save then select the radial dot on the right beside the new profile to select it. I do not have my Droid activated yet so I am unable to confirm but I was able to add a Cricket profile.

You can open the apns that way but unless you have a way to get your evdo settings to stick and know the correct cricket settings it wont work.

Everybody wants to sell the hacking service to get EVDO working without giving away the secret

If everyone thought that way we wouldn't even have open-source software. What ever happened to being altruistic?

    Any progress on this?

I'm running into this same problem. I've tried to create a new profile and then update PPP Config, but even though the new profile exists after reboot the user/pass/ip/etc settings all revert. Any help would be greatly appreciated! :icon_eek:

    Thanks! Worked!
I downloaded the NV settings from whiterabbit.org. I'm now curious how this can be done for newer phones, Droid X for instance. How do you go about looking for NV settings or making our own. Any idea?

I'm also seeing some performance problems on the data network. The icon at the top show's 1x(up/down).

    Thanks again.
