I have a Droid 1. Waiting for Bionic which is hopefully coming out soon. My power button broke, and I don't want to get a new phone. Is there anyway to assign Camera or Volume buttons to turn phone on and off? I am NOT rooted.

I realize you can slide keyboard, but that is a pain and it doesn't shut off.

Please let me know of any apps or work arounds!

    Thanks

As far as I know, you're stick with the screen slide trick and battery pulls to actually turn it off which can't be good for the phone so you probably want to limit how many times you do that.

I would root, put liquid on it, set volume rocker wake, and get a screen off app from the market.
