Hello, I'm noobie when it comes to rooting and such. I am looking to root my charge to give me super user access so I can delete the bloatware but am not ready to flash my phone to gummycharge or some of the others quite yet. I've been research and reading posts but almost all of the instructions I've read seem to be to root and flash the charge. Is it possible to just root my phone so I can have super user access and delete the bloatware?

Yes, u can root and still keep the stock rom. Just flash a rooted kernel and not the rom.

Root then make backup first, then remove forementioned bloat and flash to your hearts desire.
I keep my son's phone( rooted dinc2) stock for him, but will backup the phone and play with custom roms and such, putting it back to stock for him.

The answer is yes, root it and leave it stock

posted tomorrow using the space time continuum app on my D1...
