So like pretty much everyone here I have had completly random shutdowns from the lock screen on v2.1. Ive tried different kernels and changed my min clock speed and usually i get about 4-6 shutdowns a day. Today I downloaded petesscripts.zip and put the free50mb script in the xbin folder. started up my terminal ran the script changing it to have 50mb of ram free. Ive been at work for 9 hours now using my phone all day and not 1 single shutdown yet. Can others try this out and tell me if you works for you?

Chances are when you pull your phone out of your pocket and go to press the power button on top to unlock your screen one of your other fingers are either pressing the volume down button or camera button slightly enough that when you press the power button it restarts it or shuts down. :icon_eek:

Here are his "Hidden" power options:
Shutdown: hold power & half pressed camera button
Reboot: hold power & volume down button
Reboot Recovery: hold power & volume up button

In order to get rid of this use Root Explorer and navigate to System>BIN (Mount R/W) and delete the file "shutdown" That will fix your problems.

Can I ask where you downloaded the zip file? I'd like to give it a look-see

Just a quick confirmation post. I am running FROYO 2.2 but the build is BB v0.2.1. Is that the 2.1 you refer to? If so, I haven't had the reboot issue either.
