If that doesn't fix the gallery are there other folders you know of that we should try to place the nomedia file into?

What ever folder/images on your phone that has gps data inside the image

Example. Open nemo up, and look at your pictures, If it has the gps long and lat at the top then find out where those images are on you sdcard.

And all we have to do is put .nomedia in it? There is no need to delete those images?

I didn't find any images with gps data. I really like Memo too so hopefully there is a way to get it to work.

Yea I looked at all of my pics and didn't really see anything - does this show up on nemo or do I need to look at the pics with a different photo viewer?

Placed the .nomedia file in DCIM > .thumbnails folder and Android > Data > com.cooiris.media (place in here) > cache (also here) (also place the .nomedia file in any other folders inside this cache folder, just in case)

Gallery does not FC anymore. And I learned a new feature that the .nomedia file blocks images in folders from being shown in the gallery. :)

EDIT: On my lunch break, I will test which folder the nomedia file needs to be in, by removing one by one and seeing what causes the FC.

I placed .nomedia files in lots of locations now and still no go. My crappy luck I backed up The Shiz Rom about an hour after I downloaded Nemo so I have no clean backup of this Rom.

Now if I use my Total Chaos backup(Nemo was no ever loaded) isn't there still going to be an issue since this problem exists on the SD card? Should I delete those .nomedia files before flashing my backup?

The problem is in the /sdcard/ pictures. a different rom prob will not fix. .nomedia is only used to find the problem images.

Thanks for clarifying that Matt, I didn't think flashing a different Rom would fix this but that is an option posted on Droid-Life.com. I'll just go one by one again and try and figure this out.

I'm assuming that once I find the folder causing the issue I should be able to then delete any other .nomedia folders. I'll post up some results later on when i get some more free time.

    Ok - I fixed it.

For those of you with issues - this is what I did.

    - Just went to each folder that pulls pictures into the gallery (this will be DCIM for camera, download for downloaded pics, PicSay, and handcent if you use it - I'm sure there are more)

    - Pasted a .nomedia file into each folder until there were no more images being pulled into gallery. At this point, gallery did no FC.

    - Went through and deleted each .nomedia. Fixed.

I know this is what X said to do, but I just wanted to verify that it works.

I think I might have figured it out, I created some folders called .nomedia instead of a document when i was trying to do this quick. I'll have to check on which ones i did this with and try them one by one.

    Thanks for everyones help.

Thanks Xeudoxus for porting this over, minor speed bump on the install but if you have it working we all should be able to.
