POP3 Email thumb shows false email

Hi... I have a MAXX HD with a Comcast POP3 mail. Recently it shows (1) message active on the thumbnail of the home screen. There are no active (unread) messages anywhere in any of my mail folders. Any idea on how to get rid of the (1) on the thumbnail? Thanks!
