Honestly after trying Sholes 2.0.2 after running BB for a few weeks, I've found that they're almost exactly the same overall.....Sholes just offers a lot more options to allow you a little more choices which is a big plus, an it seems a little more stable to me ONLY at 800MHz though......for some reason the phone reboots and freezes at 1GHz, and that irks me...cause with BB I ran 1GHz about 90% of the time I had BB, and with Sholes I haven't been able to do that. I had absolutely no issues at 1GHz with BB, not one time did it randomly reboot or freeze.

OK, I have been waiting to root my phone. I don't know why, but something just kept holding me back. Today, though, I decided was the day. Thanks for this thread!! It really helped me make my decision. I'm going to go with B*Beagle.. Hopefully it isn't too much to figure out..

I wonder why 2.1 isn't as popular as those using 2.0 trying to use apps from 2.1?

Yeah so after all that I actually went with Smoked Glass v4. Gotta be honest... I'm in love with this ROM. It has more than I expected and looks amazing!! I couldn't be happier with my Droid, and it doesn't even matter when 2.1 comes out anymore..

I cannot have stated my feelings any better. I would just like to reiterate- THROW THESE GUYS A FEW BUCKS!!!

They're doing a great job and they have costs to meet, help them out, their work is worth it.

New BB 0.7.5 at 950Mhz with SetCPU set to 'conservative' is REALLY FAST. Would suggest it to anyone looking for speed and stability.

Note: the 'conservative' setting seems to give much better performance than the 'on demand' especially on the new BB ROM.

Sholesmod 2.0.3, Launcher 2.1, Smoked glass, OC at 1Ghz. Not one FC, no battery pulls. Every thing works top notch and is stable at 1Ghz. Did not have any problems with any apps or widgets. I got this free, went back an hour later and donated. This is a great rom. Very very easy to install. Looking forward to what this team of people can keep bring out for us.

I still think the best ROMs created are made by the sholes.info team. Their ROM installation provides choice, which in the end is why I rooted my phone. The menu system is streamlined and easy to use, allowing users to remove unwanted system apks, or leave them as desired (ex. facebook, email, corporate calender, verizon visual vm, etc.) In the end, its just as stable as bugless beast, and the development team is quick to fix issues. Hope this helps people make the choice.

You've been around long enough now to know better than that.....:icon_ devil: especially since you've already been to the post were several people are saying they can't get SetCPU to work.

    Okay,

went from 2.1 back to 2.0.1.

Tried Shole Mod 2.0.3, used for a day at 800 Mhz

    Wipe

Tried BB 7.5, used for a day at 800 Mhz

    Wipe...

Between BB vs Shole, I think they are pretty much the same in terms of stability. They both have WIFI tethering, they both uses glass clock theme, they both pretty much uses similar (if not all the same) 2.1 apks.

However, I do find Shole to have the upper hand due to their SMUpdate. That makes it so damn easy.....

    Now waiting for official 2.1

Well you know what they say about idiot proof...make better idiots etc etc.

Anyhow, I updated my guide even further last night. Should be even easier to read and easier to follow now.

So far I like Droidmod's simplicity, and cusomizable installation, and the theme that was on the old builds.

Elegance Beta v.05 is looking nice to me so far and running amazing at 1.2ghz. I cant wait until it is completely themed!

Ultimate Droid looks nice, but seems pretty heavy at 91MB compared to Elegance's 55MB

Cant stand the SS Theme, and with not much themes available for ESE53 yet the ROM's theme is a big factor on what I am willing to install
