My Incredible Droid 2 keeps on shutting off. I factory reset my phone, but that didn't work. My phone will shut off after 3mins of usage, but the funny things is, if I make normal phone call it wont turn off. Do I need to just replace my phone or do I need to get it fixed?

When it shuts off is there any warning, any message, does it tell you it's shutting down or does it just go black?

I'm thinking it has to do with either the battery or a component used in data transmission that is overheating (which would explain why it can stay on during phone calls), but those are simply guesses.

Have you recently dropped it? My Razr HD did the same thing after I dropped it. I don't have a fix for it though.

It just goes black. There is no warning sign or anything. I tried to see if was my battery, but I have been told that it is fine. I have to take my battery out to charge it externally because my phone doesn't charge the regular way.
