Please Explain this to me - Google Bookmarks

I am not a developer....I'm a Business Analyst...the people you guys hate almost as much as users . But I can recognize how things SHOULD work.

Can somebody please explain to me why my Google bookmarks can be synced to my device ...with the tags/labels (what ever you want to call them) in tact. But not a single application can figure out how to utilize those tags for grouping purposes.

Now I get to use my favorite phrase for developers....."How Hard Can It Be?"

There has to be some system limitation that doesn't allow apps to read those tags because it simply makes ZERO SENSE for apps not to use them.

So...the question again....

Can the tags that are already on google bookmarks readable by apps on the phone.
