So I've downloaded movies and converted them to .mp4, transferred them to the phone and they are unplayable. I've used the standard movie player, rock player lite, double twist and nothing will play them. Got any ideas as to why and what I can do to fix it? Also I'm running GB if that has any impact on it.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I can...I just use .m4v because they play as well on my iPod...so I don't have.to have multiple formats for the same movies...

X2 on rockplayer. What are you converting from? My stock video player does fine with .avi files, flv, mp4, whatever.

I use iSkysoft iMedia converter (got a free copy through some promo or another). I actually think it's a great app for audio and video conversion. Cyberlink also has Media Espresso for about $31 USD (I think) that I got a trial of with my new motherboard. It worked well but I like iMedia converter much better.

Both have smartphone profile settings for various phones.

I convert to MP4 and just copy the files to the external card in Windows (in Media Sync mode, with with no conversion when asked).
