Played with a Droid X today

i know there is a lot that you can do when phone is rooted, but if this phone can't be rooted it's not gonna stop me from buying it or any other android device. you don't need root to install download loaded apps, add media (audio & video), and also you don't need root to make phone calls. IMO i don't feel that you should have to jailbreak your phone or root it to customize it to your personal desire. This is what upsets me you spend your hard earned money on a phone why is it that they lock it down so much? I hope in the future HTC, Motorola, and Apple consider this because let's be honest if the product is good people will buy & allowing people to fully customize the phone will only mean loyal and faithful customers. Just my opinion
