Pictures turning sideways when sending as mms

I don't own a D2 but my buddy does and every time he sends pictures in an mms they turn sideways.
Stock messaging app , pictures are normal in the gallery. He just got it so he is not acclimated to it yet and Blur ui is greek to me
Is there a setting I'm not seeing?

The reason this is happening is something to do with pictures taken in portrait. If you crop them even in full it should save them with the correct orientation.

I haven't taken pictures in portrait mode since the days before the enV1 but my friend still does so I'll pass that along to him

I've had this problem occasionally on my D1 and I use Pro Zoom Camera app (much better than stock in many ways) and you can designate portrait or landscape in the settings. When I do that it always sends correctly and you don't have to resize.
