pictures not showing up in emails

Even when they are attachments. When i hit the "open" button- nothing! When I download atachment- nothing! I am very illiterate when it comes to electronics as Well. I have a regular Droid and I used to be able to get pictures. I have k-9 mail and outlook. Neither work..thanks
