Pics and Video Disappearing from Gallery

So I took some pictures and video over the weekend. I went into the gallery application and viewed them all and it worked. The next day however about a quarter of the pics and video are missing from the application.

Just pictures has all the pictures, gallery and gallery++ do not. The videos app does not find the missing videos.

However I can use astro to go to the sdcard/DCIM/100MEDIA and find everything, pictures and video.

Any id what went wrong with the gallery and video app?

I have the exact same issue.

2 things-delete dalvik-cache-then look for a .nomedia file on root of sd card-delete it, then photos...should reappear!!
