Phone would not charge or turn on, required battery pull

I was in my car coming home from visiting the Family for Thanksgiving and I went to check the NAV and my phone was dead! It had been on the charger for most of the day and only off the charger for an hour or so and it died on me! It would not turn on nor would it show that it was charging (the LED light next to the charge portal). I pulled the battery and it came right on and showed battery life. Does anyone know why this happened??

These things are bound to happen but if it becomes a recurring issue then some trouble shooting may be in order ie possible problem with app(s). Can't really say there is a problem just yet.

I wouldn't worry about it just yet though.

Thanks Ceral, it did coincide with an update downloading that simply said "update" it did not appear to be attached to any app.
