Phone won't stay silent

Hello. I'm new to this forum and discovered it because of the frustration I'm having with my Droid 4. This is actually my 2nd Droid 4. I got this one as a refurbished replacement when my first Droid 4 kept having problems. Not sure this one is much better... Anyway, I had this problem on both phones. If I go to Settings and uncheck vibrate and set phone to silent, it keeps resetting itself. This is embarrassing when I'm in a meeting or just during regular work hours. I keep my phone on in case my kids call and the noise from the vibrate is obnoxious! Is there a way to disable vibrate and make it STAY? And why won't my phone stay silent when I set it up that way?
One other annoying feature: the loud beep when the phone hangs up. I haven't been able to find a setting to silence that. Does anyone know how to do that?

Maybe the Droid 4 is just defective in this manner. If so, I'll be asking Verizon to replace my phone yet again. Thank you for any help you can give me! :)

Hello and welcome aboard!

Have you also checked the settings of each app that is notifying you - SMS, email, etc - set them to silent as well to see if it sticks...

Thanks. I haven't done that for all my apps. I have actually set all of my apps to NOT vibrate except for my alarm. But they all seem to vibrate at the most inopportune times! In meetings, while having conversations with people, while working, etc. I haven't tried setting them all to silent. But that kind of defeats the purpose of the Settings app...
