I dont know what it is!!!! I wiped everything, reinstalled the rom, and it runs smooth, and then eventually starts running like a dog out of nowhere! I installed only the necessary stuff I need to run it with, and it'll run just fine with everything, and then all of a sudden the phone is the slowest thing on earth!!!

I'm not sure if it's related to this rom, because it happened with CM6 once too... I thought it was the ROM ,and came back to SS 4.7 but I'm having the same issues!!!

is it possible the phone can be takinga dump?

    I'm also running chevy's 1000 lv kernel

Clear your Dalvik cache, it might help. Does it seem like your phone is overheating, by any chance? Is SetCPU configured to run properly? I know sometimes I've run into profiles being disabled or set on boot not working, superuser permissions not being established correctly, etc.

I heard that dalvik cache comes right back when u restart the phone...

oh and i'm running setcpu with some profiles that is for charging and slowing it down for 51c>

yesterday I took a nap and I was 'hugging' the phone, whenI woke up the phone was HOT as hell and the battery was pretty much gone, I have no idea what happened...

there is this new ROM that just came out that people are raving around, i'm gnna give it a try, see how my phone likes that one. supposed to be very efficient running

Dalvik rebuilds, yes, but it still needs to be refreshed once in a while because it gets cluttered.

As for a ROM, people will always rave about the newest. What they forget is that they wiped their cache data in SPRecovery/Clockwork Recovery before jumping to it. You HAVE to clear your data caches out occasionally on these things.

this used to be the exact reason i switched ROMs so often...after about 4 days on a ROM it would begin to get slow. i'd switch to the latest greatest and everything would be fine for about 4 days...and the cycle repeats.

Is there any way to prevent the dalvik-cache folder from piling up and getting frequently cluttered?? I want my phone to run like this permanently. I have cachemate scheduled for every hour, but that's very temporary and not for the dalvik-cache.

No, I'm afraid not. One of the devs might write a script for their ROM so that you can pop open terminal emulator and type in "su deDalvik" or something and clear the cache out once a week, but that's about it.

Just do that every week or two and your phone will love you for it. :)

too bad I switched to another rom by the time this was posted, but I'll be sure giving that script a try in 4.8!

btw, another major issue alot of us have is the battery draining problem.

I had it with most ROMs, so I'm going to blame it on the battery, and ordered one from amazon for like 5-6 bux, we'll see what happens, it's supposed to be a new battery
