Phone not locking, other issues

Yesterday my phone stopped auto locking or requiring a pattern to unlock. When I shut it down, I only see the "power off" option when I used to see a multiple options (power off, airplane mode, etc)

I've restarted it a few times but nothing happens. Also noticed the phone icon will be highlighted with orange when it reboots.

Any ideas?

Now my home button does not work, from any app.

Factory reset?

Factory data reset fixed all my problems. I still have no idea why it was happening.

While it was an inconvenience to do this, it is very nice that I, the end user, have the option completely reset my phone without the need to visit a store or call into someone.

Out of curiosity, what apps do you have installed on your phone?

this has happened to me as well. everything is fine after you restart your phone.
