Phone memory almost full

When I connect my s5 to the PC, it shows 2 folders, "card" and "phone". The card folder which is the external card has 27 free out of 29 GB, the Phone folder has 1 free out of 10.5 GB. How does this effect the phone functionality and what can I do to make things better?

Move all your pictures, videos and music to the card storage. If there are apps you don't use, uninstall those. Hopefully that will free up lots of space on your phone storage.

I had the same problem. Besides moving all your photos, videos, etc., you can also move your larger applications to the external card.
