I just took several short videos and they're all extremely choppy. I rebooted the phone and still got the same results. Anyone else have this issue? Is there anything I can try? I'm set at highest quality.

I just tried it on mine and it was the same, choppy and distorted. Low quality was fine, but of course low quality. Both high quality and YouTube high quality was bad.

Thanks for the replies guys. I posted in the official pe5 thread and linked this post so hopefully they'll check it out. I've been using my camcorder a lot now that I have a kid. :)

ok this is because the camera is not using the moto files like it was before in froyo. this was fixed by the cm team to work with gingerbread. We will look at making it work better sorry for the inconvenience.

    Same issue and stuttering

I am having the same video issue...choppy quality. Sometimes clicking on the camera button will just keep vibrating and trying to open up the camera and finally it gets to it after 5-10 seconds.

Other than this....no issues and this is the best, fastest, and slickest ROM I have tried!

    Great work guys...

I installed one of Chevys newest kernels and it made the video smooth. Tried three of the rz kernels and got the choppiness. Only catch is if you record in portrait, the playback is skewed. Record in landscape and all is well.
