This is my first contribution here...so if it doesn't look professional, sorry, I truly did my best.

If you want the percentage of battery to be displayed on the stock battery icon instead of through a widget or notification icon, this is my little fix.

First you need to backup your old framewok-res.apk through recovery mode.

Enter recovery mode on your phone, use adb shell, then
    mv /system/framework/framework-res.apk /system/framework/framework-res.bak

now add my new framework-res.apk (after removing the .zip extension, leaving just .apk)
    adb push /path_to_your_framework/framework-res.apk /system/framework/

    and done, reboot, enjoy.

(20% increments are due to there being only 5 default battery levels in the stock indicator to edit)

could you post a zip of just the edited files? then those of us that know how could add them to a metamorph and install that way.

surely, the location of the actual files is

    /system/framework/framework-res.apk/res/drawable-hdpi/stat_sys_battery_***.png

you'll notice instead of a white charger zap thing...its now blue, to accommodate the white percentage text.

i just checked what it looks like charging...because the phone shows the current battery level, then animates the progression to full in 1 second loops...the percentages look strange...but i still think its better than no % at all.

I can't figure out why every time I try to edit these on my own, I get an endless Motorolla loop logo and the phone won't boot. I've got to be missing something here.
