The company PDAir has just released a bunch of new DROID cases. They now have 6 different kinds including:

1. Vertical flip - leather - $28 - various colors
2. Vertical flip - crocodile skin - $32 - various colors
3. Aluminum case - $28 - silver and black

All of these look interesting. From the pictures, it looks like the aluminum one adds very little additional bulk. They state:

- Lightweight and strong.
- Neoprene inner lining for extra protection and shock absorber.
- Cutouts give easy access to all handheld features.

Has anyone purchased either the flip or the aluminum ones - and what do you think??

Edit: The aluminum case may be thin enough to allow it to be used in the dock???

This video shows how the aluminum case works - you have to open the case to access the keyboard - but when I am out and about I rarely use the keyboard anyway.

I love how he thinks you have to drag the app drawer up...just tap on it. lol

And to make my post relevant to this thread...I think that aluminum case is fugly.

It does look like it might fit the multimedia dock with the case open as in the video. The vendor probably does not have a dock to verify this with.

Yeah, they should have done another take. I don't mind the aluminum case, but as I have a holster I don't need it.

I like the horizontal flip cases because it covers the screen, and then I won't need to install a screen cover. It looks like you might be able to pull out the screen while it's still in the case.

Has anyone tried the leather flip cases?

FYI, I ordered the vertical case w/o beltclip a couple of days ago. Yesterday I received an email stating that due to this being the holiday season, the order MAY take up to 21 days (not counting Sat/Sun) to receive. I'm not in any rush but for those who are, please keep this in mind. PDAir's cases look good. I may even order a aluminum version if this one turns out ok. Stay tuned.

Even I, as a total newbie, did not have this much trouble figuring the phone out! :icon_eek:
