Pattern Lock

I have the pattern lock on my droid 2 but it only comes up after its been sleeping for afew hours. How can I fix this?

Under the lock screen setting there is an option for time delay. See what its set at. You can set it to turn on after no wait if you'd like.

Yea Im pretty sure my friend had a pattern lock that was something like a lightening bolt

Well you can set up your pattern like that using diagonals but its a little harder to enter it accurately imo.
