Verizon has been blocking Google Wallet on their devices as long as the service has been around. They even blocked it on the Galaxy Nexus which was supposed to be a pure Android experience. Even though they have tried to ban you from using this awesome service, where there is a will there is a way. Thanks to the handy work of developer "Open1Your1Eyes0" we now have a patch for both stock odexed/deodexed and AOSP Roms on the Verizon Galaxy S4! The method is pretty lengthy, but if you can follow directions you should have no issues. The method does require that you be rooted and also that you have recovery already installed. Check out the thread for full instructions at the source link below.

-Keeps track of rewards/loyalty cards without having to carry a second wallet around.

-Having the app is helpful because that's the system used for Play Store transactions etc.

-NFC payments.

- And you no longer need to pull your wallet out of your back pocket because, let's face it, that's just too damn much work....

This reminded me.

-Reduces exposure of sensitive payment data similar to PayPal. Especially when using Google Wallet online.

-Loss of phone does not expose your card data. For example. A malicious person would have to know your phone pin, wallet pin and debit pin.

And they would have to figure it all before you track the phone or wipe it. Can't wipe a wallet.
