I have a chance to buy a maxx but it is password protected. Is it possible to reset it without knowing the password?

I don't know if there is away to reset it. My guess is that you can do it on the bootscreen (don't know how to get to it on the razr phones). But I would check the ESN number to make sure its clean before I buy it IMO

Definitely check the ESN. You can nuke and pave the phone. Use matts utility or rsd. Your choice. And put the phone back to its stock state.

I'm not familiar with "nuke and pave". What does that mean?
