So out of the blue, my phone is starting to over heat. Nothing has changed. I am using SS 4.7.2, Chevys 1ghz LV kernal and its set at 800mhz. I have tried reflashing the kernal, clearing dalvik and still nothing. Anyone have any ideas as to what is causing this? When I check battery usage, nothing out of the norm. The battery is also draining so something is being used but I cant find out what.

I would uninstall anything you have installed (if anything) over the past 48hrs, if you haven't installed anything a factory reset might be your answer

Go with the P3 Kernel, I was having the same problem, but switched to P3, and I've been golden ever since.

I updated to latest beautiful widgets. Another user told me it caused issues with their phone so I am going to go with a backup version to see if that changes it.

I might do this if I cant stop it. Thanks.

And forgot to mention that when I started to charge it from the computer, it cooled off, but once off the charger, got hot again.

And another thing I forgot that has changed is that I turned on GPS. I used to always have it off. Are there issues with that being on?

When dealing with a rooted device, any little thing can make a difference, and GPS is a huge resource hog...if you plan to keep running at that level, I would also suggest a kernel change

There is only 1 app (RunKeeper) that needs it to be on and I rarely use it (Im a lazy guy, lol) So I will turn it off and see if that fixes it as well.

Well I uninstalled beautiful widgets 3.13 and turned off GPS and it has now gone back to normal.

Anyone else having issues with either of these?

reinstall beautiful widgets 3.13 and keep the GPS off, and see if it starts back up again, this will narrow down the problem to either one of the two

having the latest BW isnt a big thing to me as I am not losing anything in feature wise. I am going to check on turning on GPS and see what happens. Because I had GPS turned on all day yesterday and no issues and just before I went to sleep I updated BW. So I am thinking its BW not playing nice.

check to see if your phone is downloading the official flash update. Mine is doing it over and over and draining the battery and over heating. Still looking for a fix.
