It's my understanding that over/under clocking settings can vary from one device to another. There are several apps in the marketplace that can help you determine which settings are best for your device. Check out "Droid Overclock" and "QuickClock Advanced Overclock" they are both highly regarded.

That is correct, It is trial and error on each phone to see what works best. #1 rule Do Not set on boot until you have found a setting that is stable, you will get stuck in a boot loop!
