1 specific question and one sort of Generic one:

    A. if I download an Overclocked Mod/kernel/ROM, do I need SetCPU, or does the mod contain everything I need?

    B. I see words ROM and Kernel and MOD thrown about.... are they all interchangeable?

    I'll respond in reverse order.

A custom Rom is a replacement for the stock OS.
A kernel is an addition to the rom that allows one to over clock the CPU
Mod is modifying you phone. Typically, one says I'm modding my phone when they install a custom rom and add a kernel and perhaps a theme (changes the colors of icons and some icons themselves)

You will need setCPU to control the over clocking settings.

Here is a terminology guide that may help http://www.droidforums.net/forum/re...-dummies-guide-android-terminoligy-lingo.html

    Hope this is helpful.

To add to what Mike said.

Some Roms like BB 0.4 and Sapphire 1.1 do not require SetCpu to overclock.
