Over clocking on droid 2

    Overclock or not does it matter..if so do I have to root it to do it

    Yes you have to root to do it and depending on who you ask it does matter. I overclock to 1.2 ghz and notice it being a little snappier.

    Ahh I see..so what does the d2 come with factory 1g? And what version is it..I know its 2:2 but is that the froyo version..thanks..

    sure or let me say what is all this froyo version stuff I see on the app market not quite sure what that means...I wanting to know is that what the droid has in it.

    Oh ok. Well google assigns names to their os versions based alphabetically in the form of desserts. So after what I assume were alpha and beta there was...

    Cupcake
    Donut
    Eclair
    And now froyo, which is indeed what the droid 2 has

    The upcoming os update will be known as gingerbread and the one after that which will mostly be for tablets IIRC will be known as honeycomb. That's as far as is confirmed though I suspect ice cream will follow :p

    Yeah its pretty interesting. Somewhere around here is a thread where people were speculating as to the names for the rest of the alphabet. It was good for a laugh.
