"but other than the unlock screen changing and the SMS bug being fixed, I'm not noticing much difference in my day-to-day operation."
I am glad to hear they fixed the SMS bug. I was getting tired of the force quits and having to re-boot my phone.
personally I hate the current unlock screen... cheesy to me.
I love the new one... call me crazy
We may be thinking of a different SMS bug. Mine was that there was at least one number that I just plain couldn't send a message to. Doing so would just fail with a sort of generic error message.
I'm telling you all, the best way to get a phone with the update is to keep going back into your local stores telling them that your unit is broken. Just keep going back until you find a unit that either already updated or has the update ready
I have been using the the screen with the "unlock pattern" so I wonder if that is any different. My only complaint about the "unlock pattern" is: there should be an easy a way to flip the phone in to silent mode without unlocking it as there is on the other unlock screen. Technically you can hold down the power button for a second so I guess it isn't toooo bad.
Here is hoping the update is cool, none the less.
I hate taking phones back.....too much customizing I have to do all over again.
I'll just wait.........
Quoted for truth. This device isn't like CERTAIN devices i've used (*cough*BB Storm*cough*) - it's not like it NEEDS an update. I just want a camera that doesn't suffer from PMS every 24.5 days.
I would get that sort of thing when trying to text a picture so some of my buddies. The problem is the 5 MP camera (even on the lowest settings) makes such large files the SMS software tries to convert it and freaks out. Verizon would then text message me telling me that only 160 characters will be sent even though nothing was.
Sort of a strange experience. I was able to text smaller pictures to them but nothing the Droid took. Awesomeness has its price, I guess.
Gave me a good laugh.
