Yeah you'll need it to get the official OTA, likely anyway.

OK, to take an OTA update, you need to either
o Have S-OFF, or
o Have a Locked or Relocked bootloader

Remember that anytime you unlock the bootloader using your unlockbin file from htcdev, you will be put back to factory defaults.

So, if you want to take this update you need to relock your bootloader.

Howard

P.S. Personally, before I do anything to my phone, I first want to know exactly how to undo the change.

Are there instructions handy on how to re-lock the bootloader?

"fastboot oem lock"

But you shouldn't need to do that to get an OTA.

BTW,

The screen you think is recovery is not.
It was the bootloader screen - and that's how I saw you were Unlocked with S-On.
I have read that one needs to be Locked or RELocked to take the ICS OTA update.

The last resort to make a rezound phone completely stock, like new, and with none of your settings, is to run a RUU EXE file on a PC with the phone connected to the PC. I have not done this.

I'll let you in on a secret - I've only owned my Rezound for one month.

And putting back the stock recovery and relocking the bootloader might not help you,
as you might have other problems that are preventing the OTA.

You might want to discuss things with a more experienced Rezound owner.

Regards,
Howard

The RUU method is pretty solid - gets you back to the factory state... but you have to be careful by "going back" - Smith knows more on those specifics. Some RUU's won't let you downgrade the hboot, among other things, I believe.

If you unlocked using HTC's official unlock method and have a factory/stock hboot, you *shouldn't* have to relock it for the OTA - but you will need to make sure your recovery is stock, etc.

I think I did use the HTC unlock but then I flashed the Amon Ra.

So, lemme guess.
If Titanium Backup still works and Superuser still works I'm still unlocked right?

I tried both methods presented earlier and still can't get it to lock.

Hmmm
After a bit more research...
I'm showing
****Relocked***
Vigor Put Ship S-On RL

at the top of he Hboot screen.

Does this mean that I'm not rooted anymore?

Ok, so I did the Unroot of the Rezound from here
Unroot the HTC Rezound

Now Titanium backup says that it cannot acquire root privileges so I assume that I have locked the root.

However, now there is no update to download when I hit check new.
When I check status the popup is pretty much blank.
Source is Verizon, code is 0, and all else is blank.

Software information is
2.3.4
Sense 3.5
Software Number is 2.01.605.11

Is this stock now?

Thanks

I think you are. That's the same thing that I have and I'm locked and stock. And your source Verizon/code 0 is the same as me too.
