OTA to available software problem

long story short: Phone is 3 weeks old and was certified new. I got the phone with system version 5.5.886 and everytime I try to Update over the air (OTA) to version 5.5.89 is says "check for update not available at this time"....It always says that regardless of location,whether Im on, 4g, 3g, or wifi. i cant even be concerned with updating to .901 or .902 if I cant even get .89. Can someone please direct me, hopefully theres a way to manually do it.

Remove battery, then remove sim card, reinstall battery, restart phone. Turn off phone, remove battery, reinstall sim card and battery, turn phone back on. Check for updates. Hope that helps.

Unfortunately it didn't help anything...still says same thing

Next step is to do a factory reset. That should clear it up.
