1. You want that $100.00 in your pocket or an Amazon Fire TV don't you? Well here's the deal. With our new updated look we are in desperate need of an updated logo. The 'old' one has certainly served us well, but it's time. Find all the details here: bit.ly/1q0k6Wa

    Just went out - this will fix links2sd, apps2sd, and who knows how many other apps ... if you have had weird issues - this may well clear it up - this should also fix VPN apps. You should get prompted the next time you open tools. If not - exit tools (via the BACK button, not HOME). Open tools again. If you still don't, here it is, install in recovery just like you would a ROM:

    Thanks to MANATARMS for helping me troubleshoot this via his use of VPNC!!

    Btw Chevy, would unchecking the look for updates help the tools to run faster or will it still try to connect to your site to update the news?

    If you did the fix manually do you have to update still?

    This is exactly what the update does

    mount("MTD", "system", "/system");set_progress(1.000000);

    ui_print("");
    ui_print("Simply Stunning Patch #1");
    ui_print("");
    show_progress(0.500000, 40);
    ui_print("Installing Update ...");
    delete("/system/bin/mkdir");

    ui_print("Install Done!!");

    set_progress(10.000000);
    unmount("/system");

    Other than mounting/unmounting system and the coding to show the words and progress animation all it has is a command to delete /system/bin/mkdir simple lol, although I'm not exactly sure what the binary stuff does in the other file...but I'm pretty sure the main part is the script above

    Btw if you're viewing that from the phone app, disable Smileys or it'll look all weird lol

    The first time you open tools (say after a reboot) it ALWAYS looks for news/patches. After that, unless tools is completely killed (or you use BACK button to exit out) it will not look for news/updates again. That is, UNLESS you check the 'updates box' - then it checks EVERY time you enter tools.

    Remember a change from a few versions ago - typically android leaves apps in memory, regardless of whether you hit the home key or back key. My app will remove itself from memory if you hit the back key - which means it will check for updates again the next time you load it up.

    I just want to say that this patch fixed both issues for me. The VPN client now works fine. You have no idea how helpful this is to be able to login to a Cisco switch and make changes at the drop of a hat. I'm just learning how to move my apps to the SD Card to save room and stop debating on which ones i could only install before cause of the memory size. You have done a great job and I will make it worth your while next Friday(payday). Thanks again for all your help.

    I don't seem to be having any problems. Do you still recommend installing the patch?

    If I do install, is it necessary to wipe?

    I did it without wiping anything. All of his updates went in without wiping, for me.

    I would seriously encourage ALL to install this patch - it could break numerous things - if you haven't found an issue yet - chances are you will. No wipe is necessary.

    Thanks for the amazing ROM, Chevy!

    Quick question, will there be any change in build number or mod version after applying this patch? I manually flashed the update file, but the build and mod version are the same as when I originally flashed sS5.4 in About Phone. I wasn't having any of the reported issues, so no confirming that way. Just want to make sure the patch applied.

    Shoot, normally I do update it so it would read 5.41 for example - best way to check if it took - type in mkdir in terminal - if it does not report an error - the patch took!

    Mkdir is make directory isn't it? Now I see why the extensions didn't work before, they need to make a new directory to run I suppose?
