How to manually update your Razr and keep root with no PC involved.

1st Download Official OTA here and place on SDcard-ext. (Modified)

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IRC7YVU8

2. Download and instal Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper from market free.

https://market.andro...o.otarootkeeper

3. With OTA Rootkeeper open choose protect root

4. In OTA Rootkeeper Click temp. Unroot (keeps backup)

5. Reboot into Moto recovery (if you don't know how you should not be doing this )

6. Update from SD

7. Once phone is rebooted open voodoo and restore SU

My lte seems better I'm in a brick building

*******you must have all bloat intact********

****DO NOT REMOVE SAFESTRAP

****YOU DON'T NEED TOO

IF YOU INSIST ON REMOVING HASHCODE'S SAFESTRAP.....

****ALWAYS REMOVE SAFESTRAP WITHIN THE RECOVERY MENU (in your app drawer)

★★★★★★Attention★★★★★★

If your update is failing please try this......

The forums are blocking my links.... This process has worked for many getting errors. Error 7 in particular.

Does this link work ?

After following all this steps, can we switch back to our other roms or do we need to install the rom again over the new ota?

Just curious, why is this update v 748, when the official papers from Verizon are 747? Did I miss something? Is this and update-to-fix-the problems from the soak yesterday?

*Edit* just kidding. The how-to upgrade documents shows pics of version 748, but the "this is what your phone will do better" one page document says 747. Maybe a mixup on their part?

Interestingly enough, flashing this upgrade now puts me solidly in 3G when I'm in my office building. Before I would have intermittent 4G/3G, now I cannot get a 4G signal at all in my office building. Guess it's more "stable".

I don't think the moto recovery can read the sdcard -I think you may have to place it under sdcard-ext.
When you get there, it takes a long time for the recovery menus to appear -you may have to press vol+ and vol- at the same time.

Crap, mine is failing -build.prop error check.
Mine has been mildly modified. Can someone please send me a build.prop? (/system/build.prop)

Is it possible to apply this update when using safe strap if booted into the rooted stock rom? I just want to make sure I don't soft brick my RAZR before the VZW SBF file is leaked
