Only half of home screen usable

I did something on my android, and now half of the screen real estate is taken up by stuff I don't need.

How do I reset it to the default screen layout?

If you can find your home screen launcher in settings/app/all, you should be able to hit the Clear data & Clear cache. That should set it back to "stock". But, you'll have to setup all your screens again

OK. That worked. Thanks! My Mobo launcher was putting extra stuff on the screen.
