you can dl to your phone using Rom Mgr, but i don't recommend doing it that way. if you're on your pc, just connect your phone using your usb cable, mount your phone to your pc, and dl directly to your sdcard (remember to just put it on root of sdcard, and not in any folders). or, you can dl to your pc, and then copy the rom zip file to your sdcard (thru usb cable).

check Chevy's website. i'm not sure what add-ons, if any, he recommends dl'ing/flashing with his rom.

after you have the rom .zip file on your sdcard, here is the procedure to follow:

    1. backup your apps with TiBu (or thru Astro)
    2. create a backup/nandroid of your current rom (so you have something to fall back on if you experience any serious problems flashing a new rom)
    3. boot into recovery
    4. wipe data/factory reset
    5. wipe cache

    6. go to partitions menu, and format boot and format system
    7. install rom zip from sdcard
    8. reboot
IMPORTANT - after you sign in to Google, and Google syncs all your data, do not use any functions on your phone until the market completely downloads all your apps. let it complete the process before flashing any themes, kernels, whatever
    9. boot into recovery
    10. flash theme (if you desire something other than stock)
    11. reboot
    12. boot into recovery
    13. flash kernel (if you want a different kernel)
    14. reboot
    15. enjoy!

you can absolutely DL strait to you phone, in fact that is the ONLY way I do it as my internet at home sucks and corrupts every file that is over 2meg in size. And the DL speeds to my phone is about twice as fast as my home connection. So just try both ways and use wichever one works best for you.

those are the files contained within the rom zip file. when you dl, don't extract the zip file. just put the zip file on your sdcard (as well as any theme or kernel zip file) and install the zip file in recovery.

he's right, you can dl directly to your phone, as i said. BUT, dl'ing a rom using Rom Mgr, in my experience (and many others on this forum), can be glitchy. and, when you are installing a whole new OS on your phone, you want it to be glitch-free. if you have a reliable internet connection to your pc, use that. otherwise, you can use RM (if necessary) or dl using your web browser on your phone. on your sdcard, there will be a folder for your browser's dl's. take the zip out of that folder, and put it on root of sdcard.

if you are using ClockworkMod as your recovery, you don't need to change the name. if you use SPRecovery, you will need to change the name to update.zip (and make certain that it's not update.zip.zip).

you may just have a corrupt download. (and if it can happen on your pc, then it can certainly happen on your phone - that's why i always say to dl to/thru pc.) just try to redownload the rom zip to your pc again, and then try flashing.

did you do a full wipe before you flashed?? also, again, make sure that the file is not named "update.zip.zip". on your pc, sometimes the .zip extension is dropped off the display, even tho it is still there...
