If you factory reset it I doubt it is a virus. You could always factory reset it using Samsung Kies with a fresh firmware download.

With it getting wet I would lean more towards hardware damage. How long ago and how wet did it get?

And how did it get wet? Did it fall into water or get splashed?

    Not laughing.

I dropped mine AND flushed at Wal-Mart one day.

Of course that was back in the Nokia days, but still had to "fish" it out none the less.

Perhaps you're over thinking the situation. Water and electronics don't mesh very well.

If the phone was working fine before the inital "plunge", then that only leaves one possible option for your phone not working properly. It got wet.

Who knows what cracks and crevices that are not visible to the eye water could have got into.
