    i got my ally a few months ago, along with my girlfriend. she dropped hers, not even a drop, it fell off the couch onto the floor, maybe 14-18 inches.....the screen shattered. So we had to get a replacement with insurance....a few weeks later the ear speaker stopped working. speaker phone would work fine, and people could hear me but i could not hear them....which brings me to phone number 2....the recent update caused my battery to start dying in half the time that was normal. then the screen would go blank when i opened the phone. i would have to close it and put it to sleep and back on to get it to work but i couldn't open it or use the keyboard. Went to verizon today and they are sending me another one, which is fine cause i could still use it closed. now a few hours later, it's blank all the time, open, closed, upside down, it doesn't matter. So i guess i will wait for the new one and wait for that to mess up. If it happens one more time i am going to demand and hope that they give me another droid other than the ally because it seems to be a lemon.

    WOW!

    I was going to get my wife that same phone (she isn't liking her moto devour anymore lol). I am glad i just decided to give her my Droid 1 and just get a Droid 2. But thanks for the warning.

    I'm on my 4th Ally in less than 2 months...it's getting RIDICULOUS! Problems included:

    1- adding international codes when selecting a contact to call (so I'd get a "sorry you don't have an international calling plan" when I'd dial a normal number, it'd just straight up add the international codes before the area code)

    2- Randomly stop charging when plugged in and show message "please plug in USB device"

    3- Clicking on an icon and having another application open...ie clicking market and facebook would open

    4-randomly shutting off

    Talk about a pain in the @**

    my wife is on her third one now. the first one just froze and wouldn't do anything all the time. that was 2 weeks after we got it, they sent a refurb and it lasted 3 weeks then it fried completely she pluged it in to charge and it would not power up after that. third on has force closes all the time but it works so she says. if this one crashes she is getting a different phone after the first 2 died within a month the store manager said if it crashes again she could pick a different phone

    They wont exchange you into a new phone. I had the same problem with my Sam-sung Rouge had 5 of them demanded lemon policy only to hear they changed it back in February or march or soothing. They will just continue to give you "like new replacements" over and over. Even called Customer service talked to a supervisor there. Still nothing the supervisor was a dick to me so i told him to take his phone and shove it. Needless to say Verizon is slowly going down hill. Less customer service. More money.

    they pulled that with me when we got the ally i had a bb storm and sue had the curve i eventually raised enough hell so i got my droid x for new 2 year price and a month later when her curve died. they started it again about can't upgrade with out paying full price.i came real close to having security called but she got it for free. i love the droids and i really like her phone when it works so i won't cancel my account but they don't know that Lol.
