On 2.1 and RSD Lite won't work Help!

I used the update.zip to get to 2.0.1 stock no root, then i applied the 2.1 OTA and was planning on flashing sprecovery thru RSD but when I did the program won't ungray the start button. I've used RSD before so I know it works.
Tried multiple times and downloaded the files many times as well.

Please help I miss my root!

I used this .sbf file http://www.mediafire.com/file/fpkzlmxzywr/SPRecovery_ESE81.sbf and after moving the file to root of C: drive it worked.
Weird the file from christim's thread wouldn't work no matter where the file was.
