Maverick for the Droid3 (MavROM) - V2.5

CAP201111221137.png

Notes:
  • Wipe data after install of ROM no matter what ROM you are currently on
  • Manually update Google apps once to make sure they will update properly in the future
  • Change stock MMS to black background to fit the theme better
  • We highly recommend using Hashcode's safestrap to install this ROM
Team Maverick:
Thanks:
  • Huge thanks the Jrummy16 for helping me learn how to code for Android and helping along the way!
  • Kejar31 for all the help he provided and for answering all my questions.
  • Thanks to Hashcode for creating a great way to flash ROMs and leaking the new system files.
  • Thanks to Kshen1 for all the great promotion.
  • Thanks to Mobile_Sensei for all the great wallpapers he releases daily.
  • Thanks to Droidjunk for letting us use his mod to help out with the ROM.
  • Thanks to Nitroglycerine33 for letting us use his keyboard and help.
  • Thanks to all testers and those of you who helped along the way!
Features:
  • First D3 custom ROM built with the new 5.7.894 system apps
  • One of the most deeply themed D3 custom ROMs out there, just about every aspect is themed
  • Manily stock feel that has been stripped down for speed and battery life
  • Power widgets in pull down bar (Thanks to jewremy)
  • 1% Battery Increments
  • AOSP MMS replaced blur messaging
  • Build.prop edits for speed and increased battery life
  • Built-in permanent root via mount_ext3.sh file in bin
  • Toolbox for switching apps in and out
Known Issues:
  • If you are using Safestrap the Reboot Recovery option in the power menu will NOT work
Change Log for future releases:

V2.5
  • Maverick toolbox updated
  • Expanded Power Menu now includes Screen Shot
  • ALL NEW Theme Manager- 9 total themes, 4 unreleased until now
  • Battery Calibration in toolbox
  • Gallery options in toolbox. 2D, 3D, and blur
  • Hosts updated for ad blocking
  • VBHokie now a MavROM team member! Welcome!
V2.0
  • Lots of theme tweaks and cleanup.
  • Two themes now available. Dark which is included as stock and Light Theme which is in Add-On section.
  • Brand new Maverick Toolbox included now for swapping between some Blur and AOSP options.
  • Memory Tweaks now included in toolbox.
  • Full init.d support now included.
  • Battery Usage Stats now report correctly.
  • New Keyboard.
  • Bug fixes.

V1.1

  • Safestrap is no longer included in ROM so this should fix version issues people were having.
  • Cleaned up signature issues we were having with some apps
  • Docks and HDMI will work now with no add-ons necessary
  • Root Browser is included as default file manager (thanks to Jrummy16 - if you like this app check out his others!)
  • Power Widgets patched up and narrowed down to 6 now
  • Added Reboot options to power menu
  • Multiple little tweaks to polish this ROM
  • MOD from DroidJunk under Addons allows for status bar editing and much more! Open DroidJunk Tools in the app drawer after flashing it.

Tried flashing this...with safestrap it tells me the file is bad, with cwm it just reinstalls my previous rom (in this instance, monsterrom).

I also got the bad file trying to install liberty so I dunno what's up with my system

Can you tell me more about what recovery and setup you have specifically?

Can you flash this rom with Droid3bootstrap (tweaked), instead of Safestrap? If so, are there any side effects. I also assume that this is compatible with 5.6.890 as well as 5.7.894, correct? And after flashing, will this get a permanent root?

Yes you can. Everything is compatible with 5.6.890. Permaroot built in.

I just flashed the rom using Droid3Bootstrap. Very nice and smooth.

A couple of questions as follows:

1. After flashing, I uninstalled the built-in safestrap 1.0 and installed Droid3Boostrap. It runs ok. Is this good?

2. I did notice that the permaroot has been put in. Does this mean that this rom, as it is, can accept OTA update, if and when one is coming through?

Thanks so much for your efforts into this rom.

I will report back on the battery life.

1. I think you may want to get used to SafeStrap as that (imho) will be how things get done on the D3 for the coming while. Although the backups are not compatible with each other.
2. You should never accept an OTA when on a ROM. It will bork your phone for sure.

1. I will try to use the safestrap now.

2. Then, how should I handle if and when the OTA update is coming?

Thanks again.

Since the rom is debloated, even if an OTA came through it would fail because the system doesn't match up.
