spaz is right on - it is the hacking of the factory installed Hotspot Feature that is not allowed

My mistake! I was thinking 3G hotspot.

3G Hotspot hack.....
It's be decided (Jim & Miami) that the 3G Hotspot hack that allows users to use the VZW Hotspot without paying the $20 is akin to hacking a Paid App, Which is something that DF does not endorse or encourage.

The wireless tether is not hacking any Official Verizon software and is a workaround after the user has rooted their device. This method will still be allowed to be posted.

Sorry for the confusion!

I think there's some confusion here. Wifi tethering is not against the rules but discussing ways of hacking vzw's wifi hotspot feature is against the rules. If that makes sense.
